Caitlin (Young) Copelan is the Director, Founder and Recruiting Coordinator for SoundCrosse. Copelan started SoundCrosse in the winter of 2014 and the club has emerged as a top program in the area. She is in her 2nd season as the Head Varsity Coach at Greenwich High School, Copelan spent 2.5 years as the Girls Lacrosse/Lacrosse Director and Marketing Manager at Chelsea Piers CT. Young attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she played in two Final Fours (2007 and 2008) and was a member of the National Championship finalist team in 2009. She earned the Class of 1996 Award upon graduation and was ranked #1 in the Nation in Division I for caused turnovers in 2010 (*while at Fairfield (Graduate school))
A Wilton High School Hall of Fame member, Caitlin served as an Assistant Coach at Fairfield University (2011-2013), and also New Canaan High School (2014). Most recently she was the head coach of the Championship New England 2019/2020 Team at the Under Armour All-America Underclass Tournament and has been coaching club and travel teams since 2007 throughout the Northeast.
Copelan began her career at Wilton High School where she was part of the State Championship team in 2004 and the FCIAC Championship teams in 2004 and 2005. In 2005, Young was a US Lacrosse High School All-American. She was all All-State and All-FCIAC in both 2004 and 2005. In her junior year Young was a CT Super Junior and as a senior was awarded the Melissa Nickel Award, the most prestigious award a female athlete could receive. She was also a Division I recruited basketball player while at Wilton.
